My favorite Advent Wreath

As with everything else these days, I’m discovering ways to cut back this Christmas.  We had always had an Advent Wreath that was brass and wrapped in fake greens.  Instead this year I used the branches that had fallen off our Christmas tree to make the wreath.  I love it!  Here is a picture.

It’s actually very pretty but this photo doesn’t do it justice.  As the prayer before dinner last night I had Jack, Ben and Brian pray the Advent prayer together, read aloud:

“Hail and blessed be the hour and the moment the son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight in Bethlehem in piercing cold.  In that hour vouchsafe o my God to hear my prayer and grant my request through the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.”

Rob made steak and mashed potatoes and peas.  Gypsy got leftover steak with her dinner 🙂  I can’t believe Christmas is in two days!

So excited to be off work for 10 days.
